Helping out today at Jen’s, where the family has all been sick for too long. Here a slightly snotty nosed Asa is giving me some face to face time. I love the intensity of babies’ eyes…so large, the colour so clear. Asa has these dark blue beauties…at least they seem like a dark blue to me, as I’m more used to the pale blue…IMG_0252of Forest’s eyes, so pale, so intense because of the lack of intense colour, if you get my drift. I think my drift is to see everything about everything in terms of colour.    A really good day with the wee laddies. Now I hope they all get well.

IMG_0228iIt looked like spring in the ‘hood, with the 8C…I really needed the sunny day to help my sleepy self have some “spring” of my own. Managed a walk…oh, I can dance all night, but the daytime is a different creature altogether.

IMG_0098Only a photo can begin to describe the Church converted to a Home setting of tomorrow’s Robbie Burns party. Owner David and Leslie and Elsie are doing the final touches for preparation. Brenda and I are on the choir balcony, looking down with delight. Notice the bows on the chair backs? A group effort for all of this.

IMG_0085Preparing for a Robbie Burns this Saturday, we created an assembly line to make bows, with wire at the edges, to put behind each chair. As well, I was making a tartan sash for me, and a tartan tie for Frank. Elsie came by too, put on music and had us practice a few Scottish Country dances ahead of time. Sometimes a day can be so much darn fun, don’t cha know, lads and lassies.

IMG_0076Perhaps I shouldn’t have mentioned Pussy Willows yesterday. Old Man Winter took offence.  Still lovely though, especially by the fire, not having to drive.

IMG_0068Do you see what I see? The pussy willows on our shrub are making an appearance.  They promise to get bigger and better and soon! Can winter just be starting and spring be popping at the same time? Was it really the same temperature yesterday as a day last June? What’s this all about….okay, I know the answer, but I’m still really excited by the pussy willows.

IMG_0060Frank is studying a piece of wood, found in this drift wood pile on a beach near us. Umm…if only he could find 4 more pieces like this one, he could make us a new (old) dining room table. Or instead he could make me a frame for a painting. I love “finds”..something free or nearly, that you can change into something funky for your home. My mother was the queen of reworking Goodwill and Salvation Army furniture finds, and I still look at things in that light, but we truly don’t need more furniture. Perhaps we need a garage instead, and Frank and I could remake used furniture and sell it? antique, junk dealers? ahh, I like the sound of it. But would it pay for the cost of building the garage? in our lifetime?

Jockel comes with “baggage” when he stays over…not quite used to a surf board and wet suit in our living room, butIMG_0062we certainly like the company! A lovely time with these two…

IMG_0039IMG_0043sometimes it’s nice to just capture the mood…Frank and I just enjoying the silliness of…IMG_0036Val nuzzling up with the Drambuie, after leading us into a taste testing event of 3 liquors. Don’t try this without adult supervision.
