First day here, and already noshing outside! later there was heavy rain, thunder and lightening, but first came this, and this…..white quartz sand on the beach of the Emerald Coast–150 miles of this, but we were content to walk just part of it..

When we were in Florida, I was confounded by the way people marched up and down the beach but didn’t go in the water, even tho’ it was warm enough.
I was just reading about a swimming pool in France, where the women mostly ate sandwiches poolside, but sometimes went in, keeping their heads very high to not ruin their “do”. Perhaps it is similar.

it’s actually quite cool here…we’ve had thunder storms and heavy winds..there is a heated pool we’ll try to use on a warmer day, but none of us would venture in…we are at the top of the Pan Handle, and it’s not yet April…chilly. But my “do” just gets wind blown. a lot like at home. I do think if you were at the bottom of Florida you might be able to swim. nice chatting…
