Having children gives you such advantages…the new “Plasma Car” from Uncle Sam was a huge hit with the adults!
Forest loves the “woods”…nice place to run off some chocolate sillies…..so he could settle down to making Easter dinner!
A year in Days – my photo journal
At our Scrabble group today, Leslie gave each of us a delightful gift of a wool/silk/bead “scarf”…we were able to make our own personal colour choice, starting with birthday girl Brenda. Who knew we could have even more than our usual fun on our Scrabble day. Mary Lou took the photo, but she too had a scarf on.
Frank has slowly moved away from his den for computer work, on to the kitchen counter, forcing us to eat at the dining room table now and then, if the papers can’t be disturbed. Frank’s back is to the view, so that’s not the reason, but he feels like he’s part of the “action” out in this space. Even if I’m out, Daisy is hangin’ here. We are for the most part such social creatures…Frank is studying “the theory of Chaos” while helping to create it.
I know it doesn’t look like much now, or perhaps the opposite! It looks like a lot now…a spouting whale. What will I manage to do to it with paint? It may become less interesting. Always a gamble, yet it’s always exciting to begin. This gem came to me via Richard, a relic from his garage. He knew I’d love it. Doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate orchids too! Anyone?
Drea and Jockel are both leaving their separate apartments this coming weekend and moving in together. A big step, but the bigger one is under Drea’s jacket. They’re such a sweet couple..it’s so lovely to be here now. Last year at this time Drea lived in Halifax, our one relative here. Now, one month shy, a year later, Jen and Will with Forest and Asa, (and Kaia) live in Wolfville, and Jockel is in our lives too, and another grandchild is coming. That’s what I call a good year!
This project is finished…thank goodness! The work, for a show, had to have a kaleidoscope in it, be only 20″ wide, etc..too many rules and stipulations for me. I’m calling this “The Fall Cometh”…the silver leaves on the left represent the chill of fall coming, on the right…the fall. Finished. I love that word.
