Everywhere we walked in the city core, there were beautiful potted up flower displays…we went to Ryan and Tori’s for dinner…here is their dog Lilly (half Standard Poodle, half Giant Schnauzer) resting on Tessa’s lap. (Lis’s beautiful daughter). Believe me, Lilly is too big to be a lap dog! Tessa loved it.Looking up to Ryan.(.6’6″)…as always. So lovely to spend time with our guy , his gal and their dog…

Blurry…unacceptable, but I just wanted to say…what the heck? are these pillows stacked this way for any possible reason? ahhh…appearance. Like the meat and vegetables all stacked on top of the potatoes at restaurants…actually, I became used to that, and you can still eat it all, but with the pillows, you need to make the effort to put them resting against the headboard or down on the bed. Totally without function as they are. There, my rant for the day. I could change this blog to a rant page instead of a photo page!
Lis (Lussing), Anne Marie, me, sweeties Tori and Ryan (Lussing), and Lis’s sweetie, Frank…Judy (Lussing) ( decadentcakes.ca).with Lis and Anne Marie’s sweetie Paul…and Judy’s sweetie Geoff, and my sweetie, Frank! We had a lovely time at Anne Marie and Paul’s…Wonderful family and friends sharing fabulous food, big laughs, smiles, hugs. Really, since we left N.S. on Tues. a.m.. Feeling very nourished, body and soul.
Now in St.Catharines, Ontario, where we once lived. Here John (after his morning run) and Frank, discuss important topics, such as how we can all four go to Newfoundland sometime…where Julie, here surrounded by her wonderful water colours, could paint the scenery…Julie’s first born and our last born were birthed a few months apart…we each wore “hot pants” (an early ’80’s misfortunate fashion) during our pregnancy..walking down the street in those, hugely pregnant, tall and short, was quite a sight and a forever bonding experience..as were the babes.
Beautiful Cardinal at the bird feeder. On our Spruce Court, we never get Cardinals, so this small creature actually brought a big smile to our faces….the “small things” are getting smaller! that works too.Saying our goodbyes to Laura and Cody, their Potter dog (off on the run), their Kia with the two canoes….after a walk on campus. Sweet life for this sweet couple. So terrific to have shared a slice of it.
Laura, Cody and me planting Annabelle Hydrangea bushes to create a hedge…absolutely love feeling that I’ve left my mark in the gardens of those I love!!
Frank quilting a shooting star above where I had quilted a heart, on the wedding quilt of Laura and Cody’s…who knew we’d ever see him quilting!!
A genuine quilting bee…Frank, Laura, Anna, Aunt Sherry, Uncle Jim…an amazing sight.
Flying to Toronto this a.m., on the way to drive from there to State College, Pennsylvania, to visit with Judy’s daughter Laura, and her husband Cody. Daughter Anna also drove down with us…lovely special peeps to be hanging out with.Cody and Frank being served wine by Laura…OUTSIDE…love it! love being here.
When we arrived for our usual Monday in Wolfville, Forest had a ‘card’ for us….Frank, with a large heart over his head, me with a smaller one..the two of us holding hands. This was Forest’s anniversary card to us!and this was the anniversary heart shaped cake, decorated by Forest, using flowers from the garden. And this was the couple of 43 years marriage, holding hands….When you are with grandchildren on your anniversary, it does represent what your union created….!!!
Shawna and Trevor are celebrating after Shawna was signed on for a second book: The Devil Made Me. Fun to live in a community, along a shore, of such creative people. Everyone seems to be up to something creative, whether it’s planting a mega vegetable garden, painting, writing, doing poetry readings, singing, making music, making tin art, weaving, spinning wool, knitting, creating beautiful flower gardens, surfing! hiking! they’re creative too…in nature…oh, and cooking, like Trevor, amazing, and Frank, and of course, wood working, folk art….it’s all here. But this is Shawna’s weekend.
