Frank and I actually had to resort to shovelling our driveway. We’re always saying that the snow will melt and we don’t need to bother. this year seems different. a storm every week…but nothing beats the clean white of a fresh snow fall.
A year in Days – my photo journal
the birthday boy…5 years old today! it feels like saying 13…a big marker of time passing. Sweet Forest.
Opa “Frank” was on hand at the lunch..with the little Buddha…look at that tummy. so cute.
and speaking of cute…Asa had to learn that there are no gifts if it isn’t your birthday..but he coped.
These two walked home (well, one of them walked)… It was fun to have met up in the city for a birthday lunch. Will was there too, of course, and me, but my camera was set on grandchildren mode ..
Driving home after sewing and shopping, it was that magic time again…the beginning of sunset. I clearly remember living in Ontario, and thinking that Frank and I had never lived in a house that gave us a sunset view…we may have had part of whatever house we were living in, facing west, but the other houses and trees and tall buildings blocked any real impact of the setting sun. It was something that I was conscious of missing. And something we have here. Being now able to witness this phenomenon so frequently and even from our own home, has earned this a place on my gratitude list.
Robbie Burn’s party on his actual birthday..and oh what a wonderful setting!
Appetizer time, relaxing into the evening..
Rowland in his best attire…man, this guy can dance! he out danced all of us young’ns.
Wearing the Lussing tartan..”when in Rome…”
..our host, David, a true Scot..and a dancer, yeah!
Drea and Noah came yesterday to spend the snow day here.. so delightful to hang out with the dude..
..and with Val, who not only brought wine but shovelled our deck. Now that’s a good neighbour.
The four..make that five..of us played “Sequence”. Frank and Val won the first game, but with Noah’s help, Drea and I won the next game. Let it snow.
