They love growing in front of our neighbour’s home, not ours. Years back Judy would throw the seeds from her lupins into our ditch, but they just didn’t “take”. Still, I am always delighted to have them next door in front of this special home, where our first intro to N.S. really took place.

Totally rotten weather and a tense drive in torrential rain to Wolfville, so what could be nicer than homemade cookies once there? Especially that Forest created these from a selection of chosen ingredients. He had a bowl for the liquid ingredients, and one for the solids. Then he just measured and mixed at will. The strawberry in the nut grinder was a bit of a disaster, but he worked with that…
We had to return the sweet Kaia to her family, whom we met in a hotel lounge area…had an indoor picnic as it was raining cats and dogs! and Frank was able to sit his required distance away, but still take part in it all. Wonderful that this worked out.
Well, it is Friday the 13th, and while driving onto our road today, I almost hit this pheasant as it suddenly appeared in front of my car. I did the big no-no, slamming on my brakes without looking behind me. Mr. P. just sauntered onto the neighbour’s lawn, not realizing his close call…or mine.
This Dutch Treat was given to Frank last Sunday, by Ria. It won a competition which Ria had entered, for a” floral arrangement in footwear”. Ria then passed it on to her fellow Dutchman, who had a good laugh over it and enjoyed the spirit of the gifting. It bit the dust today, but the shoe will remain on our deck. Perhaps we’ll be inspired one day to fill it again. but don’t hold your breath.
Well, we started out for Wolfville…the brakes seized on Forest Hill ext…thank goodness for CAA, and also for our second car. Back on the road to Wolfville much delayed, but our mission there, accomplished…
We brought the sweetheart Kaia home to dog sit while her peeps are on a mini vacation. Kaia supervised my gardening and Frank’s painting, then she and I enjoyed R & R time together, while I talked to my eldest. Wonderful way to spend the evening…the full moon rose up too.
