Jockel surfed, Drea baked…black bean brownies. Noah cleaned up..he’s getting that one chocolate chip without letting go of his spatula.
Later it was outside to tackle the driveway with all the forces available..the sun the main one. Finally one or two layers of ice were melting!
..all good helpers appreciated…everyone.
Despite the inability to walk on the sidewalks or drive on the side roads this winter, winter is still beautiful. The sun is low in the sky, casting shadows, creating a light not found in the summer. The sun pours into our home now, but in the summer, the roof overhang stops that until closer to sunset, as the sun is higher in the sky. So winter has it’s own special glow, for which I’m grateful when other things about it aren’t so easy
We had a visitor at art today. One of our members brought her daughter along, who is on maternity leave, with her new baby girl. It was lovely to see the three generations of females, all of them enjoying the benefits of the one year leave. We love visitors at art..we are a small group. Come see us…
..especially if you have a chubby cheeked smiling baby.
We played “trivia” yesterday at the local pub, with Kevin Murphy, our local MLA and also Speaker of the House. This was a fund raiser for Twin Oaks hospital. Each table competed with the other tables to correctly answer the given questions. Frank knew the answer to which city in Canada had the first shopping mall…answer…London. Which country consumes the most caffeine per day? we didn’t know, but the answer is Sweden. Fun.
Just realized that a large shawl I’m working on will be one skein short!! I have 6 more but it’s no. 8 that will be missing. Umm, thankfully I have knitting guru friends, when the time nears…
The view from the upstairs landing..
..beyond this window. Sunny day, all the weather stuff about to visit us again, but this was a good Monday.
I love how pets seem to meld into their owners’ furniture…as though they were chosen on the basis of the chair or couch colour. This is Gracie, a high energy 1 year old Golden Doodle…forgot how demanding it is to have a poodle mixture of any combination. Sweet dog though, easy to cuddle up to on the couch.
This little guy joined us in bed about 6 a.m.. he had been awake since 4:30a.m. and it was now our turn to entertain him…
Noah is so easy to entertain, actually ..The fact that he loves eating, helps too..
Pets and children..you know what I love to photograph. Here is Leslie’s cat, looking so much like she’s posing for a classic painting.
This was from yesterday, in Wolfville, looking out towards the back. Lovely to know that the sun sets so beautifully in more places than just by our home. Kidding, yes, but really in our other homes all those years we just didn’t get this view…nice that Jen does. I also liked that the stars hanging inside looked such a part of the outside…
