As tomorrow is April 1st, despite what happens with the weather, I WILL NOT take any more photos of snow or ice. This is the last one. The ice is thinning over the inlet near us. This stretch of ocean is my “marker”… soon the heron will reappear, and the pheasants will do their wild dashes, and the eagles will soar. Oh-oh, I’m getting carried away here! It’s all the excitement of spring around the bend.

Hydrangeas…I know what I need to do when the skies are grey…

It was a stunning day…so sunny, warm. We had 20 cm. of snow that needed to be shovelled, and definitely required a supervisor.

Noah also helped by clasping snow between his thumbless mitts ( who invented those?), which he  deposited on any available shovel. He loved being outside…Meanwhile his dad was surfing. Snow, water…almost the same thing.

Noah wanted to surf the snow piles. Shown here practicing his form..

Friday, March 27th,

The first “tester”. Noah likes it. We can relax now. Mission accomplished.

A lovely spot to find myself, amongst the flowers, selling flowers.

The first of four children’s chairs that Frank has finished making…after all, he loves to build.

Really a thing of beauty, to my eyes. A child can start sitting here at 18 months or so, and just move up (down, actually…both the seat and foot rest move)…till 6 or so…Very functional, and an elegant design, but made for far less money than importing this product would have cost. Lucky boys.

Went to the “Art Zone Gallery” opening…1673 Barrington, second floor…where Will had pieces in the show. It was both the show’s and the gallery’s first day. Wonderful space…and Will’s work looked great.  Proud of this guy…

It’s always a good day to drink champagne…

..and always good to be stimulated by art. Judy and I went to hear a talk by fibre artist Dorothy Caldwell. Good day.

I did a demo tonight at my quilting guild on “using ugly fabrics”…the ones you find in your stash and wonder why you ever liked them to begin with. I really enjoyed it when some of the ladies had that “aha” moment. It made my day…

I took this at Jen’s the other day…kept thinking about it so it made the blog today. It’s the way geraniums know it’s becoming spring. They are the harbingers…making us see past the remaining snow and ice….although my Christmas cactus is still blooming, which is confusing.
