Matt and Susan left after a lovely morning with them, and then, not to let any grass grow beneath our feet, we are now relaxing at Marianne’ see her art show, and enjoy the oceanside..

..just sit..

..and watch the sun go down.

Today with parked two cars at either end of a long stretch of beach..from Kingsport Beach to the “secret beach”…about 5 k. if you walked straight, but that wasn’t possible. The surface, at the peak of low tide, varied between acceptable …

..and totally not acceptable. There were times your foot would sink lower than this, a real struggle, but part of the fun. At least no one fell into the mud!

Getting closer to our destination…

Frank attempting a “hole in one”. This rock formation was very Egyptian Sphinx looking.

We can see the magical beach ahead of us, just around the bend…someone is there…turned out to be our neighbours…funny, on the almost deserted beach, to meet them.

..a chance to catch up, and grab a hug.

And now Blomidon felt almost reachable.

After all that tough walking, time for some indulgence…this time locally made hard cider. Time to go sit on our deck, and drink local…water!

We had fun touring Matt and Susan, our former next door neighbours, and good friends.. around our new landscape. A winery is a natural place to stop when you live in a grape growing valley.

After more exploring, there was more eating. In Port William’s, watching the tide change, the sun set, and now sampling beer. A day of indulgence. You need that once in awhile.

I walked the beach, with great guide Gail, at almost low tide…from Kingsport Beach to past Medford Beach…get getting closer and closer to Blomidon during the 2 1/2 hours. Lovely. This is the ocean bottom, covered at high tide.

The edges of the beach were clay, rock, formations..wet at high tide, deliciously dripping at low tide.

Yes..all of that gets  water covered…it’s the fact that the highest tides in the world! are right here on the Bay of Fundy.

On the walk back, still no water. Still enjoying the exploring..

We found the beach that we couldn’t find when Tish and her gang were here…so glad to see it again. Now if only the gang would return from L.A. and check it out with us.

Explored the countryside on a hot slightly hazy day, but the colour of this barn still stood out.

Then at dusk, we went to Grand Pre, where a harvester was finishing up for the day, leaving behind blue hued bales of hay. Good day for day tripping.

Jen’s dog Kaia went back to her foster home on Sunday, and I am left now with only the neighbourhood dogs and cats, or the farm animals on my travels, to give me my necessary animal hit. Here are some of the crew at Gaspereau Fibres where I spend Thursdays.

We went out cycling on the Trans Canada Trail, (walking distance from us once again)  in the heat, but we were so excited to have our bikes up and running…that took a lot of doing on Frank’s part, getting his workroom sorted out to find the things he needed to make the bikes ride smoothly,  so that was an added bonus!  And there were cows on the trail! I won’t eat beef, but I do love to see cows in a field. Sort of ironic.

Walking Kaia with Noah, early morning light…It was then that Noah made his plan for the day, to ” come back later with Momma and Bubba and swim”.

..which we did. How great to have this swimming spot right in town. Noah didn’t want to leave..

..but he also had more family to be with..his Oma, Opa, Jockel’s sister and her partner, all visiting  from Germany, spending a few weeks being with Noah and his parents and seeing as much as Nova Scotia as they could.  Everyone enjoyed watching the tide fill in the Minas Basin.

Here we are…siblings…living in Ontario, Spain and Nova Scotia.  It was wonderful to all  get together for the last few days, something that hasn’t happened for years.

..and visiting with these two , always fun.

..and Lis coming by again. Summer, a great time to catch up with family.

More fun at the animal shelter….this photo makes me laugh and smile…somehow these two seem to be in sync.

The last supper for who knows how long, with this group together…but we had lots of fun.

We’ve discovered a liking for the “general store” on Main street…thanks, especially, to our visitors. The younger generation has a lot to teach the older one.

We’re caring for Jen’s dog Kaia, who is being fostered in the country near by, (while Jen is in N.Z. ) and  the “fosterers” are away on holiday. It was great to see Kaia again…haven’t seen her since early November. She’s a cross between an English Bulldog, and a Lab.

Country living hasn’t taken away Kaia’s good training. Finn was easily able to walk her..(while Drea “walked” Noah)…

…and Maya was easily able to get the classic “roll over, pet me” routine. Sweet dog.
