Noah “helped” with chores, before we headed out for pumpkin hunting..

…His choice was size appropriate, I guess…or else Noah was overwhelmed by all the choices available!  That’s life these days…a tyranny of choices..

..and then there was Hallowe’en. We had some expert help to create this face, and help with treat dispensing. At one point Marianne dispensed  a “trick” instead of a treat…a little song and dance.

..and by dinner time,  it appeared that we had eaten way too many chocolates! Never again!..until next year, that is…

We have Noah to ourselves this weekend…may as well put him to work! It was double the pleasure planting a new bush with this enthusiastic helper.

A small “Burning Bush”..minus its leaves, but that’s how to pay a lot less for landscaping items. Why didn’t I wait until now to buy and plant everything? Because I couldn’t wait!! to make my mark on the property!  Noah also helped plant bulbs and scatter Holy Hock seeds. Spring will be extra exciting, seeing what comes up, and Noah’s working on his “gardening genes” at an early age.

A little go around in Noah’s beloved “car”…on the nearly empty deck.”Winterizing” created this more space for wheelies.

Not to miss out on the pleasure of our overnight guest, Frank allows himself to be “fed” by Noah, and Noah seems totally delighted. As are we.

Outside at Gaspereau Fibres, in Gaspereau Valley…about just 10 minutes into the countryside from our home…

Inside… Miss “Purl” sleeps in a basket which houses hand knitted hats. The wood stove is warming us all, but Purl has the wool beneath her, around her, above her…she doesn’t need anything more…she is oblivious of everything, in her slumber nest. We, meanwhile, about 20 women of varied ages, sit around a large wooden table, embrace the heat, and *knit…and talk, and talk, and fall silent, working on our knitting, then talk and talk.* Repeat from * to * for up to 4 hours.

This rainbow..playing hard to get when I finally reached my camera..delighted the Eastern Shore Scrabble ladies .. who had made the 3 hr.+ round trip to drive out here to let me have my turn hosting.  The rainbow’s unexpected appearance on a rainless day, seemed to be giving a special nod to our bonded friendship.

Looking ahead is great, but looking down can be very interesting.

Our amazingly warm October days came to an end today..rain, wind, colder…and the leaves “rained” down..

..onto the roads, the lawns, …

..the gardens. Next weekend time will “fall” back…the leaves will be gone, the evenings will be darker. Hello Netflix series!
