Last hurrah with the outdoor toys before they spend the winter in the shed.  Okay snow, we’re ready when you are now.

My Christmas Cactus is blooming a month ahead of time. I have two others that are barely producing buds yet. My bases are covered.

Frank knows how to get into a good book…makes me want to grab one too..good thing I’m in three bookclubs! This isn’t as onerous as it sounds…one I get to infrequently on the shore, and with all of them, the book selections often get repeated . Frank is even in one of the bookclubs, so we can share a library copy . I’ll tell you my current favourite book if you tell me yours.

What I love about knitting…I can do it anywhere, any time.

This is for Leonard …”Like a bird on the Wire     like a drunk in a midnight choir      I have tried in my way     to be free”.

Frank prepared, in his indomitable way, a structure composed of ladders, to protect our neighbour’s fence, as we had …

..large tree branches cut down, as a preventative measure as winter approaches. There is Frank, on the far right, having committed to our neighbour that if the fence was damaged, he’d pay for it..(he trusted his creation that much)…and of course, all went well. A good man to have around when you need a creative solution to a problem.

I left after much twig the calm of knitting at Gaspereau Fibres. This was the scene as I left for home.

Oh dear…I don’t think the bucket that Noah filled is going to go far for the leaf dispersement that needs to happen. Almost all of our six large trees have finished dropping their leaves . Soon we will attempt to chop these leaves with the lawn mower…Mulch them! I say. Mulch them!

the near…

..and the far

and the in-between.  A visit to the Eastern Shore to spend with friends. So wonderful to have friends near, far, and in-between.

Found, in the woods, Tree Nymph.

Sunday, November 13, 2016

Returning from a long walk , about 5 p.m., and this is the view of the back of our home…those two huge trees in the back of our property still clinging to their leaves…the three in the front already bare..the setting sun. In this season, and throughout winter, there is always this calm feeling, for me, at the day’s end, dusk, sun set..the comfort of it, the coziness.
