Working on an art quilt…I haven’t done one in ages and I’m completely obsessed in the process. The stitching and border and binding and so on have yet to come, but I’m really pleased. It has a home to go to already, but it kick started me again!

Lovely to have many family members around to hang out with, wonderful to have time with grandchildren, and family pets are delightful too. We’ve had cats in the past who have thought that large planters were to be used as an extra litter box, but never as a place to sleep. Have to smile…
The foreboding weather doesn’t bother my canine companion…he just says “why so slow?”.
Great to have some floor space in my studio…it comes in handy…I can use the floor boards to let me know it my piece is squared when I don’t have a table that big…
The quilter in me loved seeing this bench on my walk today. Covid or not, walks never grow old…nor does colour or pattern.
The gift that keeps on giving…this Hyacinth was just buds when given to me on January 14th…now, 10 days later, it still has a fifth bud to open up, after the fragrant four others which stretch out over our coffee table. . Later I will let the plant rest a little, and before we know it I’ll be planting it into the front garden and watching it bloom again. This is ” re-use” in full force.
Due to a snowstorm, my friend and I couldn’t return to the valley last night, but had instead had an adventure staying with a city friend. I slept on the living room couch and awoke to this wonderful scene. Friends, adventures, safe in a storm…all good! And it even came with the bonus of sharing the couch at times with this lovely dog…
….a relative of our late “Daisy Dog”. Now back at home but thinking about a couch adornment of our own!
The day feels mellow with yellow…
I have never stopped be awed by the changing tides in our valley. The dramatic ocean of the eastern shore was amazing, but this holds my attention too.
